The Tonewinner TY-1CD is a high-end Hi-Fi CD player finished in a black and white exterior with an anodized surface, an LCD display and an aluminum remote control.
Decoding runs through an ESS9028 chip from ESS, rated at up to 129dB signal-to-noise ratio and distortion as low as -120dB, handling CD, HDCD and SACD (CD layer) discs as well as MP3 and WMA files, with DSD/SACD playback available over coaxial and optical connections via DoP.
The output stage uses Texas Instruments operational amplifiers: an OPA1632 fully differential amp rated at 0.000022% THD with 1.3 nV/√Hz input noise, and an OPA1612 unity-gain-stable amp rated at 0.000015% THD with 1.1 nV/√Hz noise density. Custom ELNA filter and coupling capacitors, along with a custom-fitted disc drive, round out the internal build.
