The Tonewinner AD-1PRE+ is a high-end Hi-Fi pre amplifier and processor built around an ES9038 decoding chip capable of decoding signals up to 22MHz, supporting DSD 512/256/128/64 and PCM sample rates up to 32-bit/768kHz.
Format support covers DSD 512 (SACD, ISO, DST, DFF), AIFF, ALAC, APE, DIFF, DSF, FLAC, OGG, WAV, AAC, MP3 and WMA, decoded via a CT7601PR USB decoding chip alongside a JRC digital volume chip. Ten operational amplifiers, including five OPA1612, four OPA1632 and one OPA1642, handle the output stages for low distortion and noise with a wide dynamic range.
XLR audio ports deliver a balanced, low-distortion output, and a built-in phono stage supports MM/MC cartridges. An internal multi-chamber layout separates circuit sections to reduce interference, and the unit draws 150W when active against 0.5W in standby.
